We understand the stress, delays, uncertainty, and frustration that you can when seeking evaluation & support for your child.
You want your child to thrive but have some concerns about your child getting labelled, quickly started on meds, or simply having your concerns brushed off without a full discussion & plan.
We are here to help you every step of the way.
Our 3-step process makes it easy for families to navigate evaluation, diagnosis, and support.
Step 1: Screening Evaluation
We have short forms that parents & teacher fill out prior to the our visit. This allows us to gather loads of information about what is being seen at school and at home. We are able to get a full picture view of your child's strengths & challenges so we can put a plan in place to improve things.
Step 2: Parent Discussion
It can be tricky to share in front of your child so we have dedicated time set aside to discuss things openly without the worry of your child hearing & internalizing what's discussed. We make it a priority to learn everything we can to guide our discussion and plan while preserving your child's dignity & self-confidence.
Step 3: Parent + Child Discussion & Plan
After we form a full picture of your child's strengths & challenges at home, we discuss with parent & child what everyone is seeing and come up with a goal focused plan to improve attention & focus. With your child playing an active role in the plan, you'll have more motivation for change & a focus on how we can make things even better at home & school.
The evaluation process consists of an initial screening evaluation, parent discussion, and parent & child discussion. The screening evaluation form takes about 10 minutes to complete and help us to better understand your child's strengths and challenges. These forms are sent to your email and can be filled out on your phone or computer. There is a form for each parent and one for the teacher. Once filled out, the forms come directly to us so there is no delay in us reviewing the information once collected (and no need to print, mail, etc!). We schedule our parent & parent+child discussions at our office (or virtually) and the visit takes about 60 minutes to discuss, review, and create a plan.
We see children of all ages. Formal evaluations for ADHD can be done as young as age 4 but most children are between ages 5-12 when an evaluation is requested.
We use a range of evaluation tools depending on the specifics of the child, family, and school environment. Typically, this includes Vanderbilt or ADHD-RS forms. All the forms can be filled out and submitted from your phone or computer.
It works best if the child is aware of why they are coming in. We advise parents to focus on the strengths and challenges (your child is well aware of these) and that the focus is on enjoying home life, school, learning, and play even more.
Our pediatric team is well versed in making our visits calm & enjoyable for kids. We make sure that your child feels comfortable & has a positive experience even when discussing difficult challenges or issues we are facing.
Absolutely! All discussions with your child will occur with you present. We will provide for a time during the eval for your child to step out of the room and do some coloring or book reading so we can discuss openly any specific concerns you have.
The cost for the entire screening, evaluation, and consultation is $247. You can pay with credit card, check, or HSA card. We can create a super-bill invoice for you to submit to your insurance company for possible repayment.

Of course. We will create an action plan and help establish next steps including a report which can be given to your primary physician or school, and any other support you have in place. Many parents cannot get needed therapy and support covered until they have a diagnosis and so we do our best to allow parents to quickly get things moving to improve communication, growth, and development.
Some children with attention & focus issues benefit from medications to help with focus, attention, and executive functioning. Both Dr Boucher & NP Clara Fynbu Eggert work to avoid over-prescribing and certainly view medications as one component of the overall treatment plan. Most children should first have strategies put in place at home & school to improve executive functioning skills before starting on medications.
